Civil Litigation Lawyer
Salary: €45,000 – €55,000 (depending on experience)
EMA Advocates is seeking to recruit a Civil Litigation Lawyer to join its growing legal practice. The ideal candidate shall be a motivated and detail-oriented professional with solid experience practicing before the Courts of Malta and capable of independently managing a diverse caseload.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients before the Courts of Malta and other adjudicating bodies in all stages of civil litigation;
- Draft legal documents including sworn applications, judicial replies, notes of submissions, legal opinions, letters of advice, and judicial acts, and any other document as required;
- Conduct legal research, prepare case strategies, and advise clients on legal rights, obligations, and risks;
- Liaise with clients, court officials, experts, and third parties as required;
- Manage assigned files autonomously, ensuring deadlines and procedural requirements are fully met;
- Attend meetings, client consultations, participate in negotiations, and settlement discussions as required;
- Contribute to the firm’s professional standards and participate in internal knowledge-sharing initiatives;
Requirements
- Law degree (M. Adv / LL.D.) and warrant to practice as an Advocate in Malta;
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience litigating civil cases before the Courts of Malta;
- Proven ability to independently manage a caseload and handle matters with minimal supervision;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Maltese and English language;
- Strong research skills, analytical reasoning, and attention to detail;
